This week my grandson had his 2nd birthday, and we celebrated with great joy!
Agenda:
1. Read (and Practice) the Happiness Habit
2. Plan and prepare for a party
3. Celebrate a birthday!
1. Read (and Practice) the Happiness Habit:
I'm reading a book called "Happiness is a Habit: Simple Daily Rituals that Increase Energy, Improve Well-being, and Add Joy to Every Day", by Michele Phillips.
Habit 13 is Create Visual Affirmations, Posters, and Reminders. Philips says, "The more you are exposed to something, the more embedded in your brain it becomes. I suggest you flood your brain with images that you want." She advocates using a white board for quotes, and tacking up new images and messages often so they are new and fresh. She also suggests a vision board (which I usually make in December but never finished this year... so I worked on it this week.)
Habit 14 is Start a Mastermind Group. "Mastermind groups date back to Ancient Greek philosophers, such as Socrates. They were a lively group of individuals who came together to share ideas and insights." She suggests using this group to ask for guidance on roadblocks, and for accountability in taking steps toward your goals. And she encourages you to take minutes to track each person's progress and next steps. (Hmmm.)
Habit 15 is Be Grateful and Celebrate Your Wins. Ideas: Write people letters, or write letters to God in your journal, or speak your gratitude out loud on a walk. "Be grateful for everything, even your problems."
