1. Renewal brainstorm:
Every month before the Third Quarter Moon, I take some time to think about self-care, renewal, and "sharpening the saw"; that is, I look at my whole Being, and how I can live with more balance and resilience.

I try to renew all four dimensions of my life (body, mind, heart, and spirit), as Stephen Covey taught: I spend about an hour each day on a combination of physical, mental, and spiritual regeneration activities, plus work to improve my social skills and relationships. Today I will review how I'm doing, and make note of new ideas for the month ahead.

My ideas:
Body & Discipline
  • Continue chair yoga stretches every morning;
  • Take a daily walk - stretches after walking
  • Plan and prepare healthy lunches, snacks, dinners;
  • Drink more water - aim for 3 glasses daily.
  • Get my teeth cleaned.
  • Covid vaccine.
Mind & Vision
  • Finish Ongo journal practices and make an ongoing plan;
  • Research and write about Nature-Culture;
  • Think about reading for next month: Balance?Synergy?;
  • Self-expression with signs.
Spirit & Ethics
  • Cultivate spiritual order (inner peace and purpose);
  • Enjoy nature daily with photos and grubbing
  • Keep a "new narrative" journal, as a tool for creative shifts in awareness;
  • Brainstorm next steps for earth care (Earth Week study).
Heart and passion
  • Build trust by turning my reactive resistance into presence, effort, and follow-through
  • Be in the moment with my grandsons;
  • Stop and name my feelings and the sensations that accompany them in order to re-connect with my heart.
2. Writing themes and passion flow plan:
The next few days are the best block of time I have for healthy obsession for my writing project. Today I will set themes and topics for writing, research, and also some garden, advocacy, and community tasks to support that Nature-Culture flow through the next week.

My Nature-Culture theme this month is early spring renewal and awareness.
  • Th: Reciprocity: Yard signs of Love (Start a "Love the Earth" sign)
  • Fri: Reciprocity: Armchair wildlife habitat advocacy; Little plant library + talking to neighbors
  • Sat: Sanctuary: Plant natives (Plan my next plantings)
  • Sun: Awareness: Phenological planting correlations
  • Mon: Natural Living: Waste free eating, zero waste shopping (Spring plastic round up walk)
  • Tues: Hopeful shifts: Kid projects - make a nest
