Flexible Friday the 13th

I feel new energy arising,
and I want to maintain this flow. I'm working on good habits, daily walks, and getting to my house chores with regularity. I'm working on shifting my natural resistance towards presence, effort, and follow-through (integrity) in order to build trust.

Today I want to give attention to flexibility, that ability to go with the flow and shift my plans and expectations so that we can all feel at peace and calm, and have fun rather than conflict. It's just another aspect of easing my resistance - and also the resistance of those around me.

Agenda:
1. Read "Perspective"
2. New narrative for flexibility
3. Writing themes and passion flow plan

1. Read "Perspective':
I'm reading this book by Meridith Elliot Powell, subtitled Reignite, Reinvent, Reframe (2025). This is the work I am dedicating myself to this year.

I'm on Chapter five, Reframing Resistance. Resistance feels bad in my body when I have it and when someone directs it towards me, but really it is only a "human response to uncertainty, change, or perceived loss". Resistance is self-protection - it's not rejection or opposition - it signals a need for more information. It's "an invitation to engage, clarify, and connect."

Resistance comes when we are tired, frustrated, and fearful that we are losing autonomy. It shows up as defensiveness, skepticism, or pushback. The underlying Need is to be heard and understood.

Practice: When I notice that I'm pushing hard and conflict is inevitable, take a pause and ask, "How can I communicate my vision and also release my expectations?"

2. New narrative for flexibility:
One of my weekly Creative Perspective tasks is to define a new narrative to re-frame a mind-set and expand my thinking. Today I'm working on a plan for flexibility:

"I will communicate my vision and be clear about my intentions, and also be flexible enough to make pivots."

3. Writing themes and passion flow plan:
The next few days are the best block of time I have for healthy obsession for my writing project. Today I will set themes and topics for writing, research, and also some garden, advocacy, and community tasks to support that Nature-Culture flow through the next week.

My Nature-Culture theme this month is early spring renewal and awareness.
  • Today: Natural Living: Move all reference to rituals and crafts to this section (move eco-spirituality in intro).
  • Update Interfaith Earthkeepers calendar. Add my event; Send a reminder to the email list to send events and share their Light with others.
  • Potting Day lesson on regenerative gardening
  • Sat: Write Sanctuary: Shrink your lawn, planting natives, phenological correlations,
  • Plant spinach.
  • Sun: Write AwarenessNesting
  • Test my cleansing ritual
  • Next steps for the Little Plant Library: Write about my plants to share, the cultivation, and how they serve our native pollinators. Make signage and web info.
