Waning Moon Creativity

As I come to the end of the Sleepy Moon cycle, and wrap things up a bit, I'm sitting with creativity in a contemplative way, and I realize two things:

I've been reverting to an earlier phase of my life, before painting and art school, when I was internally driven to Make Things, and they were varied and creative.

But I'm also a different person now - as Grandma Earth Teacher I am led to make things that are a gift to the Earth in some way, sustainable and with a message.

Agenda:
1. Read "The Book of Doing and Being"
2. Projects for the week

Easter Week

This whole week is called Easter week or Holy Week,
and I enjoy celebrating it with my family.

Monday is my day to reset for the week and get my ducks in a row - make some plans for health and home, and get ready for a week of Easter activities with my grandsons.

Agenda this week:
1. Read "The Spirited Walker"
2. Clearing and Home projects
3. Grandson fun
4. Pocket calendar plan

Simple Time

In November everything slows down, and I try to remember to be more aware of time flowing; to find the right tempo for each activity; and to transition calmly. Advent will bring a wealth of activity, so take time this week to savor the changing season. Remember, as Waverly Fitzgerald says in Slow Time, that time is "much more fluid and mysterious than I had imagined."

Agenda:
1. Read "The Power of Less"
2. Simple holiday decluttering
3. Simple projects list
4. Love meditation

August Deep Dive

My theme this month is Depth -
following the deep water flowing within, cutting a natural path, the true course of my life.

I've developed many tools and practices for this process, and this month I'll take an analytical look at how I'm doing. Am I still on the right path and are my tools in good order?

Agenda:
1. Read Total Chakra Energy Plan
2. Solar plexus chakra practice
3. Review transformative habits
4. Deep clearing the kitchen

February Order

Humans love to create order out of chaos!
It's one thing we do well. Life is filled with chaos, disorder and confusion
, messiness, uncertainty, and misunderstanding; that's natural and normal.
Order and chaos are fluid and interconnected: Order exists within chaos, and chaos exists within order.

Creating order when you can is a form of power; orderly habits and an orderly mind will bring you clarity and peaceCreating order is ground work: Put the order in place first, then everything that follows will flow more smoothly, and when chaos inevitably happen your orderly mind will be free to handle it with equanimity.

You cannot completely organize the chaos in your life but you can create a balance between the two, finding stability with order and using chaos as an impetus for growth. Too much order borders on obsession - I can accept that a certain amount of disorder is healthy and normal, and aim for just enough order to feel like I'm creating meaning, and accomplishing many of my priorities. (I wrote a whole book on this topic, called "Get Your Ducks in a Row." )

Agenda:
1. Habits of an orderly mind
2. My co-regulation plan
3. Household order
4. Simple steps for this week

Agenda Today:
1. Read Writing and Being
2. Collect moments of joy
3. Journal queries
4. Make a full effort plan

Prepare for Imbalc

Imbalc is coming in a few days and I have a few practical and contemplative preparations to make. Mostly I need to watch as the wheel of the year shifts. We still have a month of winter left, but these warm days (in the 60's) are pretty great! My thoughts are turning outward, to the garden, our neighborhood, and my community.

Agenda:
1. Read Writing and Being
2. Practice a Reverent Way of Being
3. Gratitude practice
3. Write about my seeds of inspiration
5. House clearing
