Creative shifts

Thursday is my day to open the door to creative thinking and doing; I've reverted to an earlier phase of my life, before painting and art school, when I was internally driven to Make Things, and they were varied and creative. But I'm also a different person now - as Grandma Earth Teacher I am led to make things that are a gift to the Earth in some way, sustainable, and with a message.

Also, I need to prepare for the next week of Grandma Camps, with themes, projects, and field trips.

And thirdly, I've got lots of projects that help us function better: Fixing broken things and maintaining the house.

Agenda:
1. Read "Perspective"
2. Creative visualization
3. House projects
4. Camp preparedness
5. Projects for the week

April Flow

April is spring; the yellows and violets of March explode into all the amazing colors of the rainbow: orange tulips, pink azaleas, red-flowering currant, fresh green, and the blue true dream of sky - that rich blue of patience, peace, and understanding.

During this middle month of spring, I celebrate the limitless energy of the maiden and the crazy wisdom of the fool. I turn everything upside down and inside out - anything is possible! April offers me happiness and wonder; maybe now I can say YES with vigor, enjoy the surprises, confusion, and chaos that life brings, and feel
comfortable in the depths of my life.

Agenda:
1. Read "The Book of Doing and Being"
2. Creative imagining for spring bliss
3. Bliss brainstorm
4. Projects for the week
5. Writing themes and passion flow plan

End of a Crazy Week

What a week! Spring break is not what it used to be - no break for us. We had the boys for longer days, and one with an ear infection - not fun. Still, we had the kind of conversation and time you can't have on shorter days. Tonight we will have them again for an extended evening, and I want to set us up for success.

Agenda:
1. Read "The Book of Doing and Being"
2. Creative imagining for Dragonfly Studio
3. Studio brainstorm
4. Projects for the week
5. Writing themes and passion flow plan

Emotional perspective

My theme this year is Creative Perspective.
Perspective is just about how we look at things, like our opinions, actions, what's happening in the world and what happened in the past.

Tuesday is my day to look at my social and emotional self and make an effort to shift my perspectives around how I view the people in my life.

Agenda today:
1. Read the Sweet Spot
2. Ongo journal
3. Synergy and Hope plans

World Day of Prayer

The World Day of Prayer takes place every year on the first Friday in March. Women in the United States and Canada first formed this event after the devastation of World War I, when they were convinced that world peace was tied to world mission. Each year, Christian women from all over the world join together to plan and organize events, and suggest a theme and focus.

This year the theme was set by the women of Nigeria:

I Will Give You Rest: Come

Matthew 11:28-30

At a time when people worldwide are carrying heavy burdens, our Nigerian sisters offer profound insights into finding rest in God. Through their exploration of different kinds of burdens - shame, systemic oppression, religious persecution, poverty and despair - the writers help us understand both the weight of human suffering and the depths of divine rest. Their work shows us that true rest isn't just about physical relief, but about transformation through God's grace and community support.

Agenda:
1. Devotions
2. Beingness
3. Earth Action
4. Read Matthew 11:28-30
5. Prayer for the Poor
6. Prayerful Action
7. Read "Perspective"
8. New narrative for building trust
9. Writing themes and passion flow plan

Vigor

Vigor and enthusiasm for life
are components of effectiveness, happiness, and hope.

Today I set an intention to lean in to life with vigor and enthusiasm by giving attention to self-care and healthy habits, lighting a fire with visualization and curiosity, and taking one step at a time, because lethargy and overwhelm threaten to derail me everyday and if I delay, I’m not acting in the now.

Agenda:
1. Devotions
2. Beingness
3. Earth Action
4. Read "Perspective"
5. New narrative for vigor
6. Creative visualization
7. Writing themes and passion flow plan

Priorities

This week I've been brainstorming priorities
for the next month, which is a process of decision-making: What is the next most important thing? What will give meaning to my life and help the world?

When I feel scattered it might mean I am avoiding something I need to decide, what to do and what NOT to do. Once I decide, I can set everything else on the back burner. I can explain the priorities to my team, build alignment, and eliminate chaos and that feeling of overwhelm. I can be intentional.

Agenda:
1. Love cycle
2. Read "Perspective"
3. New narrative
4. Days of passion flow plan

Plow Monday

Plow Mondaythe first Monday after Epiphany, is the traditional day in Europe for farmers to restart their farm work. Our garden isn't large, but, with the ducks, it's like a miniature farm.

Normally, it's too wet at this time in the Pacific Northwest to do any digging, but many other tasks are possible, and it's good motivation for me to have this set date each year to start my “farm work”.

I got a lot of good permaculture information from Amy of the Ten-Acre Farm.  Amy says,
"January is one of my favorite times of year because I love the opportunity to start anew, make new agreements with myself about how I will spend time in the garden, and determine what kinds of experiments I will run to continue learning and improving."

Agenda for today & this week:
1. Journal query
2. Creative Perspective plans
3. Walking script
4. Read "SoulSpace"
5. Clean and clear the living room
6. Tool blessing ceremony
7. Garden planing
8. Daily garden visits
9. Make Plough Pudding or Homity Pie

Twelfth Night

The evening of January 5th is called Twelfth Night, the Eve of the Epiphany, the night that the three Magi traveled to Bethlehem to see the newborn baby Jesus.

In Italy, the story goes, the Befana (short for Epiphania) was busy sweeping her floor that night, when the Magi stopped at her house. They invited her to come along with them on their trip to see Jesus but she said she was too busy.

Later she changed her mind and decided to follow, but she couldn’t find them. She continues her search each year on Twelfth Night, flying on a broom, going from house to house and leaving gifts.

Agenda:
1. Twelfth Night queries
2. Creative Perspective plans
3. Resolutions postcard
4. Walking script
5. Read "SoulSpace"
6. Sweeping
7. Clean and clear the kitchen
8. Make Focaccia della Befana
9. Leave gifts

Full Wolf Moon

Tonight is the full moon of January
, called atalka - the "Stay Inside Moon" - by the Kalapuya of my area, and the Wolf Moon by others, because of the hungry packs of wolves that used to roam for prey at this time of deep winter. The full Wolf Moon is a good time to ponder what I am hungry for, and how to be resilient.

We are now at the peak of the strong-energy yang phase of the waxing moon, and will soon begin the quiet-energy yin time of the waning moon. The full moon shines her light on everything; use the full moon energy for creatively completing things, and for seeing your next moves, and also to CELEBRATE how far you've come and give thanks for the lessons learned and the blessings received.

This is also the tenth day of the twelve-day festal tide - we have 3 days of Christmas left! By now, most people are fed up with holidays and ready to get back to "normalcy", but I'm holding on for my full 12-days-worth. I celebrate these last days in Sabbath mode, doing as little work as possible, resting, reflecting, and finding peace within.

Agenda for today:
1.
Vision walk
2. Gnothi Seauton
3. Choose a theme for the New Year
4. Read "Perspective"
5. New narrative for the week
6. Celebrate stillness
7. Eat Hoppin' John

Sixth Day of Christmas

This is the sixth day of Christmas, and time to wrap things up for this old year! Today we are packing for a train trip to visit family, so I will push myself to Get Things Done, so I can enjoy a few days of total relaxation.

This morning I will begin to bring thoughts of the New Year into focus. It's an introspective time- standing at the door of the year, looking backward and forward. It's my habit to reflect on the past and also to ponder the year ahead- consider my true purpose and envision hopes for myself and my world.

Agenda Today:
1. Kwanzaa principle
2
.

Light a candle for peace and equanimity
3. Read "Present Moment Awareness"
4. Soyal retreat practices for equanimity
5. Equanimity brainstorm
