Hamaspathmaidyem

Hamaspathmaidyem is the sixth and last gahambar. This gahamber is the most significant to Zoroastrians, because it's devoted to remembering the fravashis or guardian angels. According to Zoroastrian religion, each of the 6 creations was created during one of the gahambars. Mankind was created on this last one. 

This is the start of the second half of  Farvardegan, which means “days of remembering the Fravashis" (guardian angels). It's a ten day Zoroastrian festival that includes the five days of Hamaspathmaidyem, which concludes with Nowruz, the Persian New Year, on March 21.

Monday is my day to reset for the week and get my ducks in a row - make some plans for health and home, and prepare for Grandson fun.

1. Spring cleaning and big home projects:

To honor the angels, and prepare for Nowruz, Iranians clean their houses, mend anything that is broken, take baths, and buy new clothes.

In March I take the first steps of spring cleaning and maintenance, those big jobs that get put off through the winter months. This week I'm cleaning in the bathroom - the floor, tub, sink, and toilet.

I'm also doing the work to finish our home projects, because creating our home sanctuary is a priority, and finishing projects (one by one) satisfies my need for completion, integrity, and order. 

My goals this week:

1. Call an electrician about grounded outlet
2. Clear final pile of dirt and replant lawn
3. Finish kitchen design and order sink
4. Look at tiles for the backsplash
5. Make a new project calendar

2. Grandson fun:

Monday is also my day to prepare for fun kid activities throughout the week. I'm going to prepare some bird and nest projects, and a birthday project for Mommy, plus edit and add to our choice cards:

• Feed squirrels
• Painting
• AC car
