Agenda today:
1. My bump plan
2. Read "The Book of Doing and Being"
3. Brainstorm for Nature-Culture
4. Writing themes and passion plan
1. My bump plan:
Ideas:
- Eat a high-protein breakfast for a sharper focus: Poached eggs and toast
- Mid-week priority catch up: This week - Hearthkeeping work
- Clear some clutter to free mental space: Recycling
- Easy evening meal or dinner out: Sandwiches.
2. Read "The Book of Doing and Being":
I'm reading from this book by Barnet Bain (2015), subtitled "Rediscovering Creativity in Life, Love, and Work". This is a book of creative perspective, to help jiggle me out of the straight line way I usually think into something new: Use the exercises with consistency in order to stay focused on my destination. Practice will ground me and allow my ambitions to take root and grow. This book is overdue, so today I'm fast forwarding: Chapter 8 is The Faces of Obstruction, about overwhelm, procrastination, self-doubt, and so on. Chapter 9 is Emotional Mastery, about being fully present and passionate. Chapter 10 is Engaging the Muses, about stepping in to creative flow. Chapter 11 is Image Making, about who we imagine ourselves to be...
3. Brainstorm for Nature-Culture:
Every month just after the third quarter moon, I take some days to be quiet and contemplative and prepare for the next phase of my life. At the new moon (on Sunday) I will transition from one focus to another, and a whole new field of opportunity. This week I'll take time to write down my goals, dreams, and exciting ideas for the next 30-days.
Today I'm going to think about possible writing themes for summer.
- June 7: Caterpillar sanctuary (save nectar plants and pesticides for later)
- June 14: Rethink garden practices (into to regenerative gardening) + Pest philosophy (sanctuary)/ mention neonicinoid activism
- June 21: (Awareness) Solstice, sunlight awareness, and why celebrating the seasons is important + solar disc project.
- June 28: Synch to a slower rhythm (natural living) + Climate change activism 101 (reciprocity)
- July 5: Cooling centers (activism to help bipeds) + HOPE
- July 12: Air awareness + Butterflies
- July 19: Butterfly gardens, nectar plants (sanctuary) + Eat local (natural living)
4. Writing themes and passion flow plan:
The next few days are the best block of time I have for healthy obsession for my writing project. Today I will set themes and topics for writing and research:
