Wednesday is my day to re-group and re-define my week. First I make a plan for getting over the bump of the mid-week, then I re-envision my emotional tone and perspective.
Agenda today:
1. My bump plan
2. Read "Perspective"
3. New narrative for ease and order
4. Ease plan
5. Writing themes and passion flow plan
1. My bump plan:
Ideas:
- Eat a high-protein breakfast for a sharper focus: eggs
- Mid-week priority catch up: This week - Earthcare News.
- Clear some clutter to free mental space: Finish studio door area
- Easy evening meal or dinner out: Pappa's
2. Read "Perspective":
I'm reading this book by Meridith Elliot Powell, subtitled Reignite, Reinvent, Reframe (2025). This is the work I am dedicating myself to this year.
I'm on Chapter seven, The Bounce Factor, about reframing setbacks as springboards. You need to have-
- a perspective that reframes the setback to become an opportunity.
- a quick response, resetting and recommitting.
- and resilience - grit and determination.
3. New narrative for ease and order:
Yesterday I identified this Need: Practice getting things done with ease - less stress, less procrastination.
- When I am at ease in the moment, I can better notice the details that give me hope and peace. Ease allows me to just BE with a person or a situation as it arises, not reacting, not running, not clinging.
- By fostering ease, and remaining calm and present-centered, I allow life to return to its natural order rather than imposing unnatural structure, and replace my mental disorder with ethical discipline, integrity, and wisdom.
My new narrative this week is "I will foster ease, creating natural order and ethical discipline; practice getting things done with less stress and procrastination."
4. Ease plan:
- Practice being like a mountain (basic equanimity): Sit with strength and dignity, allowing thoughts, feelings, and sensations to arise and pass without habitual reaction, like wind blowing around a mountain.
- Cultivate compassion: Practice loving-kindness toward myself and others to counteract anger and stress. View challenging people as teachers who reveal areas for personal growth.
- Detach from outcomes: Focus on the present moment rather than fixating on future results.
- Embrace impermanence: Contemplate that all things are temporary. Accepting this reality reduces the craving and clinging that cause suffering.
- Practice letting go: When unpleasant emotions or desires arise, recognize them, breathe, and relax rather than reacting impulsively or trying to force them away. Observe them without indulging in them.
- Live with integrity: Foster inner peace by avoiding actions that cause turmoil, such as lashing out, lying, and procrastinating.
- Develop feelings of gratitude and abundance: Appreciate what is present foster a sense of ease and reduce the drive for "more".
5. Writing themes and passion flow plan:
The next few days are the best block of time I have for healthy obsession for my writing project. Today I will set themes and topics for writing, research, and also some garden, advocacy, and community tasks to support that Nature-Culture flow through the next week.
My Nature-Culture theme this month is early spring renewal and awareness.
