Thursday becomes Wednesday

Wednesday is my day to re-group and re-define my week. First I make a plan for getting over the bump of the mid-week, then I re-envision my emotional tone and perspective.

This week I've lost a day due to our Portland trip, so I feel particularly out-of-balance. How can I become grounded and energized?

Agenda today:
1. My bump plan
2. Read "The Achievement Habit"
3. Writing themes and passion plan
4. Beingness routines

1. My bump plan:
Ideas:
  • Eat a high-protein breakfast for a sharper focus: Quiche!
  • Mid-week priority catch up: This week - House painting
  • Clear some clutter to free mental spacePainting supplies
  • Easy evening meal or dinner out: Leftovers?
  • GroundingAn hour in the garden
2. Read "The Achievement Habit":
I'm reading from this book by Bernard Roth (2015), subtitled "Stop Wishing, Start Doing, and Take Command of Your Life"This is a book about "design thinking", applied to achieving goals in your life.

Chapter 4 is Finding Assistance, about helping each other out, mentorship, and accepting the good bits from flawed individuals. "Commit yourself to radical collaboration." But remember to stay real; don't use people to get ahead.

3. Gratitude meditation:
Every month after the full moon, in the quiet-energy yin time of the waning moon, I practice a love meditation that progresses from receptivity, to gratitude, to generosity. The most powerful receiving is accompanied with sincere gratitude, so today I will look again at the things I want to receive this month, and how I can show my heart-felt gratitude:
  • Equanimity habit - grateful I am able to grow in calmness;
  • Clarity for summer priorities for big home projects - grateful I can consult with my project partner;
  • Camp preparedness - grateful I have time to prepare;
  • Involvement in the Eugene Energy Fund project - grateful to those working this important project.

Day 2: Practice a love meditation, and end by feeling and expressing gratitude - send a prayer
of thanksgiving
 to the universe for all I have in my life.

4. Writing themes and passion flow plan:
The next few days are the best block of time I have for healthy obsession for my writing project. Last week I made a plan for the summer, and I'm already behind, but that's okay - I want to get it right!

Today I will set themes and topics for writing and research:
  • F: Into to climate change - Edits and post.
  • Sat: How to help hot wildlife (Sanctuary)
  • Sun: Edits and post.
  • M: My carbon footprint - being humble (natural living)
  • T: Edits and post.
  • W: Climate change activism 101 (reciprocity)
  • Th: Eugene Clean Energy Fund
