September Transitions

September is a transition month - the last weeks of the sun-baked summer, and the beginning of autumn. September's element is earth, which grounds and gives strength. And I need grounding, because Autumn is a wild and energizing time, when seeds ripen, and the everything is at its peak of unruliness.

Even though I am feeling the urge to draw inward, now is not the time to completely retreat. September is a time to be open, and to respond to whatever life brings me; I am looking under rocks and turning things upside down. I am sorting out the ideas that come to me, holding each up to the light to see if it’s a keeper, looking and listening for crazy wisdom. I am maintaining an unruly kind of discipline. I am celebrating each new day and the Truth it brings.

This is the season to awaken the wild woman within and break some rules! I ask the important questions and misbehave (with integrity). But I am happily aware that I will never have an orderly shelf-full of the Truth. Truth is a mystery- it shifts and twists out of my grasp, and hides in the shadows. I am comforted to know this, because it releases me from the need to have all the answers. My real work is to ask all the questions.

Agenda:
1. Journal query
2. Read "Step into Nature"
3. Proaction
4. Reciprocity plans

5. Pockets

Being Aware

Being aware
is partly a practice of being in the moment and partly a practice of education. I need to be aware of an issue before I can shift my thinking or change my actions.

I also need to be aware of my threshold for bad news and my limited ability to process and build better habits! Slowly, Turtle.

Agenda:
1. Read "Present Moment Awareness"
2. Nature-Culture awareness
3. Inspiration and awe practice

Spiritual Simplicity and Order

Spiritual simplicity
and order is my practice of the week, and it's all about attention to Truth, Love and Creation. When I make time for these in my life, other things fall away.

Spiritual order then refers to this state of balanced alignment of my internal and external lives with a divine purpose, creating harmony and peace rather than chaos or excess.

Agenda:
1. Awareness
2. Divestment
3. Enjoyment

First Quarter Moon of August

Tonight is the First Quarter Moon;
we are one-quarter of the way through the moon cycle. The moon is waxing - growing in light and energy, creating a time for decisive action. I use this end-of-August quarter moon's energy to help me to discern my Truth and then act on it; this requires some discipline.

Discernment is a deep process: It can feel like intuition, or a gut feeling. You might experience it as butterflies, or tingling on the back of the neck, or as a flash that takes the breath away. Some call it a guiding voice, or leading of the spirit. Sometimes it is quiet and subtle, and sometimes loud and clear - a flash of insight, or creative impulse, or sudden clarity, or a leading or itch to act on something you never thought of before.

And when your Inner Guide speaks to you with a message that seems foreign to how you normally think (maybe a rush of new hopefulness, or an urging to action), then it's hard to not credit it to a something outside yourself.

Who's to say?

Agenda Today:
1. Read "Creativity Takes Courage"
2. Journal queries
3.
 Make a full effort plan
4. Evaluate my creativity habits:
5. Do the smallest thing

Obsession Reboot

My big passion project
(to write a book about Nature-Culture) has been ticking along in a chaotic and underground manner. Now that I'm done with clerking and my big event, and our home project is well under way, I want to get back into the turmoil of obsession!

Agenda Today:
1.
Read
"Brainstorm"
2.
 Five days of passion
3. Outdoor preschool brainstorm
